PCC Superintendents Update

It is nice to have some warmer weather come to Plymouth finally! The crew and I have been out mowing and cleaning up after Mother Nature. It is a nice change of pace from all of the time we have spent holed up in the shop!

It seems that the golf course has come through winter in good shape. Greens have firmed up better than I anticipated and the tees and fairways are greening up too. We are finalizing our design for the front entrance landscaping and will begin work on that in late April. Soon we will be firing up the irrigation system and getting our spring fertilizer down.

To better communicate golf course information with you, I have created a blog that you can read any time. My goal is to update the course on a weekly basis through this tool. The address is:

Ryan Cummings Bio:

I am Ryan Cummings and it is a great pleasure to be your grounds superintendent. I would like to tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Greenfield, Indiana and am a 2005 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Turf Science. Before coming to Plymouth Country Club, I worked at the Kampen Course at Purdue and at Elcona Country Club, learning maintenance techniques from some of the hardest working people in the industry.

My wife, Monica, and I live in South Bend currently with our son Matthew, our two dogs and cat. Both of us enjoy golfing and being outdoors. We are excited to be part of the PCC family and look forward to seeing everyone at the social functions and out on the golf course.
